Andrew Wyeth (1917-2009) Artist. Wyeth's favorite subjects were the land and people around him, both in his hometown of Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, and at his summer home in Cushing, Maine. He often said: "I paint my life." One of the best-known is his painting Christina's World. 7 ¼” x 10 ½” autograph letter signed, “Andy,” personal stationery, front and back, December 4, 1957, to “Dear Anton.” “It certainly was swell seeing you at my…exhibition. Having you show up made this day seem very warm with the spirit of old Needham…I was delighted to have the color slides of the Civil War battle painting…will be interested to see the other painting….” There is one small water spot which touches the text and uneven toning.
