American, 20th century, probably Bill Curry for Design Line Inc., one with manufacturer's label "STEMLITE by design line inc./el segundo, calif./patent no. 199141" and label "Underwriters' Laboratories, Inc./Portable Lamp/Issue No. 51,155", both stamped "B-631" at underside, yellow green painted tulip bases, wide conforming opaque glass shades,?bases only 11-1/2 x 7 in., height with shades 16-3/4 in.
Provenance: Collection from Blue Haven, designed by Carter Williams, Raleigh, North Carolina
Condition
surface dirt layer and accretion, scattered surface scratches, not tested for functionality; one lacking paint at base underside; shades with scattered scratches
