Art Nouveau is more than just an ornamental style. It began as a way of thinking about modern society and an attempt to redefine the meaning of works of art. Art Nouveau prevailed throughout Europe and the United States between 1890 and 1910. Examples of this decorative style can be found in sculptures, paintings, architecture, jewelry, furniture, textiles and even household items.
